Структурний метод і метод апробації гіпотез у дослідженні орнаментів

Abstract

Розглянуто використання структурного методу для дослідження орнаментів і архаїчних символів, який полягає у виокремленні структур символів (елементів) і їх розгляді як первісного (стійкого, інваріантного) стосовно символів, передбачає абстрагування від змісту символів і надання переваги дослідженню формальних співвідношень між ними і доповнюється методом гіпотез. Послідовність гіпотез формується і апробується в процесі аналізу структур. Дослідження розглядається як перебирання гіпотез. Наведено приклади аналізу структур символів орнаментів.

Рассмотрено применение структурного метода в исследовании архаичных орнаментов и символов, суть которого заключается в выделении структур символов (элементов) и их рассмотрении как первоначального (устойчивого, инвариантного) по отношению к символам, абстрагируясь от содержания символов и исследуя формальные отношения между ними. Структурный метод дополняется методом гипотез. При этом речь идет о последовательности гипотез, которые формируются и апробируются в процессе анализа структур. Исследование представляет собой последовательное рассмотрение гипотез. Приведены примеры анализа структур символов орнаментов.

In the article the application of the structural method for studying of archaic ornaments and symbols is considered. Alternation and periodicity of ornamental elements, their symmetrical nature suggests that ornamental symbols and elements create some certain structures – some stable connections between elements. Structural method of archaic ornaments and symbols study includes emphasis of some symbols (elements) structures and their consideration as initial (steady, invariant) in relation to the symbols. This method suggests some abstraction from the content of symbols and gives some preference to the study of formal relations between them. Obviously formal axiomatic of structural method should be supplemented by some meaningful assumptions regarding the interpretation of ornaments and symbols. Structural method needs to be complemented by a method of hypotheses. In this case, it is not about one individual hypothesis and the sequence of hypotheses generated and tested in the process of the structures’ analysis. Therefore, this method is what the author calls the testing of hypotheses and offers it as an addition to the structural method. The essence of this method lies in the fact that in the study of certain structures some hypotheses regarding the semantics of its elements are formulated. Then next hypotheses appear on its basis that are refuted or confirmed. All research is considered a as search of hypothesis. The article presents examples of the ornaments symbols structures analysis.
